What have you been doing to get farm ready?

This profile should be viewed as a whole family partnership. We are; My 54 year old father with over 35 years experience farming. Dairying, managing a Charolais stud, extensive experience growing fodder crops for hay and silage. My 52 year old mother, with my father all their adult lives, has assisted dad extensively and she has worked in admin and payroll for transport companies, engineering contractors and accountants. Myself, 31 years old, never full time employed on a farm but trying to learn every day, I've attended MLA courses My girlfriend/partner, 30 years old, a little less experience than myself but has also attended MLA courses. We've put our own money up to buy a tractor and the required equipment to farm on side by side leases with irrigation, we've purchased Stud Stock and Commercial Stock and bred Droughtmaster and Brahman X Droughtmasters. Why are you passionate about farming?

We're passionate about how healthy grass fed beef is and how beneficial grazing ruminants are to the environment. We want to breed and market quality stud stock and commercial beef cattle. We love being in the outdoors and participating in the environment in a beneficial way. We love our animals and endeavour to give them the healthiest life possible while in our care.

Best days of being a farmer:

South Queensland or Northern NSW is our ideal location. We'd be mainly farming beef cattle, our best days would be working together, moving our cattle on and off feed and into different paddocks. We'd love to spend more time with our stud stock, breaking them in, leading them and travelling to the country shows in our region for them to compete.
