What have you been doing to get farm ready?

I have been drawing from a lot of skills and experiences from when I lived on rural mixed farming property in North East Victoria. I have also been doing a lot of reading and searching for the right property. I currently own a couple of Hereford heifers, which are my future breeding stock. I have been getting them into top condition in order to start a breeding program (Ai program) in the very near future.

Why are you passionate about farming?

It is a lifestyle I truly enjoy and offers a lot of opportunities.

Best days of being a farmer:

My dream farm would be a Mixed Farming property located on 150-200 acres in South East Victoria, offering extensive river frontage and access along with a water license, bore water and multiple dams. I would be delighted to run the farm with my immediate family. The property would have a homestead, a second home and an American Style Barn along with a veggie garden and big orchard with cherry, fig and apple trees among others. I would farm Hereford cattle, however would set heavy focus on stud quality. Further, I would also farm bison, a dairy cow, horses, chickens, ducks, sheep and bees. On the best days I would be rounding up cattle on horseback alongside my working dog and would do some animal husbandry duties, pasture management, plant/harvest in both the veggie garden and orchard and enjoy some fishing by the river.
