What have you been doing to get farm ready?

We are currently leasing a 591 acre dairy farm in South West Victoria. We starting leasing the farm in May 2017 and now milking 220 cows. I (Kate) have competed a Diploma in Rural Business and George has previously managed a successful dairy farm for 4 years.

Why are you passionate about farming?

Dairy farming is an extremely rewarding industry. You get to spend everyday outside doing something different, weather it be plumbing a trough or fixing a fence to creating breeding programs. Your never stuck doing the same thing.

Best days of being a farmer:

We haven't found our dream farms location yet but we sure will know when we find it! (Probably Tasmania) We would love to continue Dairying, focusing on sustainability and animal welfare. Our animals do come first on our farm as we believe if we look after them, they'll look after us.
