What have you been doing to get farm ready?

Yes I am definitely farm ready. I have been fortunate enough to work throughout most parts of Australia. I am also participating in courses and workshops to remain up to date and current. I have completed Bachelor of Education, a Diploma of Agribusiness and currently completing my Masters of Sustainable Agriculture. My partner and I are looking for a farm totalling 50ac-500ac.

Why are you passionate about farming?

Globally, 1.3 billion people depend on livestock for their livelihoods. Livestock provides protein and micronutrients to many of the world’s 830 million people experiencing food insecurity. As farmers and graziers we have a significant responsibility to protect and regenerate our lands, through technology and best management practices we can produce products that are both environmentally beneficial and economically sustainable.

Best days of being a farmer:

My dream farm doesn’t have a specific location. I am very passionate about livestock production and a diversity in both enterprise types and the environment and would ideally run a diverse operation consisting of meat production, fodder crops and native flora production. I am passionate about innovation and evolving technologies. Due to today’s climate and uncertainty our ideal farm would not be the only source of income, both my partner and I would have off farm income. The property would be set up and designed to not be reliant on attention every day. Furthermore, due to the size of the property we are looking for and our job types this is possible. Our ideal operation would be a few days a week on the farm doing what needs to be done, while setting up a home and a sustainable and diverse business.
