What have you been doing to get farm ready?

Being Farm ready is really a case of coming Full circle back to farming, after some years away. I am experienced in all aspects of holistic grazing management, and my father is experienced in horticulture, including aquaculture and silviculture, having established and operated a very successful farm in the South Burnett region including farm tours and operating a stand at Eumundi markets. I also have extensive experience in financial management and strategic planning and experience in holistic grazing operations in south east QLD, central and northern Australia (QLD and NT).

Why are you passionate about farming?

I am passionate about farming as a way to regenerate land, grow healthy food and contribute to a better world - and, because I love it! I'm passionate about facilitating access to farming as a career path and as an impact investment model. I believe farmers are the custodians and guardians of the future and that a general shift towards regenerative farming is the most important movement of our time. DO not need to live on this farm if within 50 km of Boubyjan. In the long trem, any grazing properties would be welcome as part of a bigger picture - but for now, the above is the ideal!

Best days of being a farmer:

AT present, my dream farm is in South East QLD, ideally South Burnett, as that would compliment our existing farm. It would allow my father and I to partner in operations, and provide a solid basis for expansion of the Agreventures ethos - which is about facilitating "new" farmers, and the shift to regenerative agriculture. The farm would be mix of multi-species grazing and market garden / horticulture, and would not necessarily already be regeneratively managed, but it's owners would be open to the transition if not. On the best days, my Dad is doing hands on everyday, while I am assisting him as needed and a couple of days a week. The other days, I'm marketing our products, and working on my consulting and Agreventures - both of which support the farm financially and philosophically - with the hope that it will serve as a host farm for workshops, training etc - this may be on our current farm if not suitable on the "new" farm.
