What have you been doing to get farm ready?

Spending directed time learning, practicing and hands on experience in a diverse setting of small farms. Growing towards a knowledge of farm systems working within a ecosystems setting, engaging community around the concept of food production and why they should make their consumer choice.

Why are you passionate about farming?

To positively impact the landscape around me through sound management and techniques. Building towards a antifragile landscape, producing surplus produce to feed to local consumers, whilst supporting a viable business.

Best days of being a farmer:

Early mornings spent moving and feeding animals, ensuring systems are ready for the day. Ruminants on grass managed properly, pasture raised fowl species, whilst perennial tree crops systems are establishing. Engagment with on farm, direct consumer sales and local retail outlets who value the quality of the food they have access to. Employing pastionate farmers to be engaged in the the processes of small scale farming, managing towards a biodiverse, antifragile landscape. Multi-enterprise for diversity in productions, sales and impact on the land. Looking back at on the day, knowing that the decisions which were made are benefical for the ecosystem, economically sound, allowing for the quality of life we have created for ourselves and leading me towards an abundant future.
